When Your Car Sounds Funny, It's Important to Know the Signs
Surge and Mufflerman have collaborated on a unique and compelling new campaign that leverages all divisions of the Surge team. The Know The Signs campaign, conceived and orchestrated by Surge Communications, is designed to help motorists understand the noises and sensations that a car makes in order to make informed maintenance decisions. A true multi media approach is the key. The cornerstone of the program is the Know the Signs DVD. On it are 7 animated episodes that follow a typical (or not so typical) couple – Dan and Laura – through their voyage of automotive discovery. Along the way they are guided by their friendly Mufflerman technician, Rob.
The DVD's are distributed at events by the experiential specialists from Sparks Event Marketing. Viewers of the DVD are then directed to a web micro site designed by Surge Web Solutions where they can enter a contest that tests the knowledge gained from the videos (the videos are also hosted on the site). Successfully answering 7 questions qualifies participants for a contest that features prizes such as vacations, electronics and vacation equipment. The lead characters, Dan and Laura also appear in radio spots that promote the Mufflerman's services as well as directing listeners to the micro site. Finally the micro site is also promoted as a super on the Mufflerman's television commercials, with presence on radio station websites and at the store level with exterior signage and counter cards.
